Case Study - High level Sliding Shutter Doorway

 Client: Council catering complex with maintance workshop on 1st floor

Problems:

Fork truck access to 1st floor maintenance shop through sliding shutter doorway'
Shutter door way with limited headroom and in area with confined space
Swing door workshop entrance from staircase directly adjacent to landing area.  Danger
or personnel falling through open door or coming into contact with moving load.
Due to danger of personnel being exposed to falling through doorway.  Safety procedures
required doorway kept locked and permit for use required

Solution

Supply and installation of Mezzbarriers Omega-Nu model
combination vertical track edge gate with fold down inner gate
mounted on new angle extension landing plate on wall at foot of doorway. (Painted yellow in photo)

Edge gate designed to raise higher than door way to improve load height clearance.

Gate mechanism positioned to allow shutter door to be closed
as required and with gate providing fall prevention whether open or closed, there is no need to lock the door.
